An Early Morning Sushi Run

I know, it’s been a while since the last post, but let’s start back off with everyone’s favorite food topic, sushi. So once again I found myself in Taipei and once again I’m super jet lagged. What’s a person to do? Why, let’s head over to Addiction Aquatic Development for some early morning eats. Sure, the market opens at 6am and you can pick up some good pre-packaged eats. However, my body still thinks it’s evening which meant I wanted a sit down dinner. Lucky for me, inside the facility was a nice sushi bar. And better yet, it opened at 9am. So for those early morning cravings, this is your place.

There should be no problem finding it since it’s right in the middle of the market. You’ll go straight through the live seafood tanks. Then turning the corner you’ll see the sushi area.

It’s standing tables only. So my “sit down” dinner requirement was not going to happen. But hey, their menu had plenty to choose form. I went with the 600NTD Deluxe Nigiri Sushi Combo that comes with miso soup. Standing at the counter, and being part of the early bird crowd (only 2 others), I got to see the magic happen. The chefs were hard at work, preparing our meals as well as the prepackaged one that you’ll see later. With about 3 wait staff that morning, you can guess that there was no problem getting attention.

After the meal, I took a stroll around the sushi bar area. There’s so much good looking seafood. I was so tempted. If I lived here, I would definitely swing by for lunch or dinner. Everything looks so much better than the grocery store sushi we get in the states. The food looked well crafted.

It was good to come by in the morning. It gets quite packed during the day and nearly impossible to get into the standing sushi bar. Good thing there are those counters just outside the market. Buy one of these to go containers and have your meal there. That’ll be next time.
