Vow Renewals
It’s not often you can get all your friends and family together. Especially when you grow older and time becomes more of a precious commodity. But somehow we got about twenty eight people together to watch a few friends renew their vows. Maybe it was allure of Hawaii or the prospect of just getting away. Either case, we had people from as far as Hong Kong and as neighboring as Canada, join in. This was the main point of this trip, to see vows renewed. Couples engaged in a once forgotten act, reinstating their reason to stay together, no matter what life brings to them. It was a wondrous act.
The ceremony was at Paradise Cove. A luau venue that may be smaller than the Polynesian Culture Center, but packs everything into a more viable time frame. It’s definitely more bang of the buck. And if you’re staying close by, I’m sure there are bus services to and from Paradise Cove. However, what you should be focused on was the time you spend with the people that matter most. In our case, it was what most people do when they visit Hawaii, eat, relax, and enjoy what you are immersed in.

Verdict: If there’s a reason to go here, sure, I’ll be there.
And if you’re wondering what this day was like, imagine going on vacation and trying to stay healthy. That was us. A handful of individuals trying as best as they can avoiding the lures that was Hawaiian restaurants. The best of the Eastern and Western worlds. We only hope, this doesn’t make another notch in our belts.

Actually, we forgot a step. They never threw the bouquets. But actually, that was a good thing. There were only five single people here.

Wish I was a kid again and this tree was available for everyone to play on. That wouldn’t cause any liability problems. Not at all. Fine. I’ll settle for the musicians.

One of many Polynesian activities before the luau. And I still can’t get this down. My spear went into the bushes in the back. I think the spear was crooked or maybe there really was alcohol in the drinks!

In case you’re wondering about the food, imagine everything heavy and bad for you and then you got yourself a great meal. Nothing wrong with saying goodbye to your diet.

Probably your best choice for an udon soup if you need something warm. Strange idea given it’s Hawaii, but it’s not bad at all. The soup isn’t blazing hot. It’s just right for this weather and the price point is perfect. $4.25USD

Now this was perfect on a warm day, cold udon. You’ll get to enjoy every bit of chewiness with the noodle after submerging it into the dipping sauce. $3.75USD

Food coma had set in along with the drinks. But when the drums started, the adrenaline kicked in. I’m a sucker for these things. Anything with heavy drums and fire really gets things going. Too bad it lasts about ten minutes. I was pretty much done for the night.

I have a feeling they don’t make these drinks too strong since the place was all the way over on the west side of the island. Most everyone has to drive out here, unless you’re part of a bus group. $8.00USD
