Don’t Judge the Spaceship
When the food gets delivered to your table via a spaceship-shaped capsule on a rail, you’d be forgiven for not taking the place too seriously. I didn’t at first. But once the meat hit the grill I changed my mind pretty quickly.
The setup is simple. You order from your phone, the food comes to you on the conveyor, and you grill it yourself at the table. The menu starts with everyday cuts at very approachable prices and scales up to Miyazaki wagyu if you want to spend more, including A5 rib eye, A4 short plate, and A4 chuck roll. I stuck mostly (yes, I did indulge at one point) to the standard wagyu sets and left full every time, which is the most honest endorsement I can give a place.
We stayed in the area for about three weeks and came back several times.

Garden Rivera, 20-30 Tai Chung Kiu Road

Verdict: Ignore the gimmick, focus on the meat. Great quality wagyu at a price that makes it easy to go back.
The grills are all nice and clean. Note that these are all personal grills that you cook individually.

It’s a plate of short rib and chuck roll with miso soup, salad, and rice. You can also upgrade your rice, which I did here, with nori and a poached egg. This is how you won’t leave here hungry.

Here’s when I splurged on their best cuts. These were your Miyazaki wagyu, which came in ribeye, tri-tip amd chuck flat. Yes, if you can only go here once, go for Miyazaki grade. You won’t be disappointed… unless of course you over cook it. Medium rare at least!

Yep, these little capsules zip by all over the place. You’re eagerly waiting for it to stop by to give you your daily dose of meats.
